Something for everyone

We’re back! Tommy has had plenty of bits on his plate, and what a buffet it’s turned out to be. Let’s dig into it.

Care.com

Tommy has been doing a solid chunk of work for Care.com, a site where users can find and book caregivers for themselves or their loved ones. While there are still plenty of updates to come, and the project page will be updated accordingly, check out what he’s done so far.

Lots of running

There are two new projects in the ol’ portfolio, both coincidentally featuring runners. Forbes Japan asked Tommy to illustrate some folk for their article Currency hunters in Reiwa and Goodwood Magazine also wanted an extreme perspective for their article on running for your health.

World Illustration Awards

A couple of projects were longlisted for the World Illustration Awards. Woo! His book A Little Slugger’s Guide to the Unwritten Rules of Baseball and Life can be found in the Children’s Publishing category, and the Women in Waste project is in the editorial section.

Rive

Looking to expand his toolkit, Tommy has been learning Rive, an app that can create interactive animations. Great for apps, games and other digital spaces. The motorcycle animation on the info page was his first creation made using the software, and his latest project is a little Granola Calculator app with a duck character, Prof. Drake. Give them a go!

Cura website goes live

The work Tommy worked on for Cura is finally live on their website. It’s always great to see it all come together in context. You can see more of the project on his site.

Website tweaks

There have been some tidy updates on the website front, too. You may have noticed them since your last visit.

  • There’s a filter so you can see the projects that interest you.
  • A new tag to show what’s been recently uploaded.
  • I spoke with Tommy about the mobile menu and asked him to improve it. Gotta keep that slacker on his toes.

Well, that should be enough to keep you busy for now. Porker out.
